Spicy Hawaiian Smoked Pizza

August 5, 2018 by Tony

Making pizza has always been something I’ve enjoyed. It takes me back to a time in my younger days when I worked at Costco in the food court making pizza’s. This Spicy Hawaiian Smoked Pizza is quickly become one of my favorites to make. Smoking it in my Traeger grill gives the pizza that great smokey flavor and a nice crunchy crust.

Making the Spicy Hawaiian Smoked Pizza is so quick and easy to make. I buy all the ingredients fresh at Trader Joe’s, even the pizza dough. The Spicy Hawaiian Smoked Pizza is my version of the traditional Hawaiian Pizza but with a twist. I use homemade Alfredo sauce instead of marinara. I also add jalapeño, bacon, red onion, and a drizzle of barbeque sauce. If you like Hawaiian Pizza you’ll love my Spicy Hawaiian Smoked Pizza.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 14 minutes
Total Time 24 minutes
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 Plain pizza dough Trader Joe's brand
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • clove garlic crushed
  • 1.5 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 jalapeño thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces Canadian style bacon
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple chopped
  • 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4-5 slices bacon
  • barbecue sauce drizzle

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add about 2 tbsp olive oil and place pizza dough, then add about 1 tbsp olive oil to the top of the dough and allow to set out to rise a bit.

  2. In a medium saucepan melt butter. Once the butter has melted add heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

  3. Once the butter and heavy cream has came to a simmer add the garlic and parmesan cheese, whisk quickly heating through.

  4. Using a pizza stone spread the dough out evenly and dock with a fork.

  5. Spread about 1/2 cup of Alfredo sauce on the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch for the crust. You can use more or less depending on how much sauce you like. I like my pizza lightly sauced so I only use 1/2 cup.

  6. Spread cheese and add toppings.

  7. Turn on your smoker, I use a Traeger so I turn on to the smoke setting and allow the fire to establish (about 5 minutes). Then turn the smoker to high and close the lid. Allow to preheat about 10-15 minutes. Place pizza in the smoker and close the lid. Cook for 14 minutes, remove and enjoy.
